Fabulous Fiction Couples

Happy Valentine’s Day!! I’m one of those people who has always LOVED Valentine’s Day. I was always so excited to pick out those little fold-able valentines and then give them to all my friends. I continued to do this through college. Whether you’re planning on spending the day with someone you love, or you’re snuggling up with a good book, I hope you have a fabulous day! Here are my top 10 total #GOALS fiction couples from some of my favorite books. (I will avoid giving spoilers)

Twilight

I will begin with my high school favorite: Twilight by Stephanie Meyer… (I’m sorry to be so cliche, but I was a superfan)

  • Edward & Bella
  • Rosalie & Emmett
  • Alice & Jasper

But like, come on. Who didn’t want to be Bella, the one girl who could capture Edward’s heart? The other couples were just so adorable, I had to include them on this list. I want to go back and read the books again, just to see if I’m still as obsessed as I was in high school.

In case you wanted to see me with my poster from high school… I guess I needed the world to know of my obsession.

City of Bones

Carrying on… my next couples are from the City of Bones series by Cassandra Clare.

  • Clary & Jace
  • Magnus & Alec

I am absolutely in love with Magnus & Alec’s relationship. Clary & Jace were cute too, but I adored how Magnus & Alec reacted to each other, and their whole story. If you want to know a little more about this series, I talk about it in another post as well : https://livingthroughwriting.com/7-fantasy-series-to-escape-reality-with/

The Hunger Games

Another great couple was from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

  • Peeta & Katniss (I mean, who else)

Yeah, you probably saw that coming. I shipped them from the start — but I did not like how the books ended. I won’t give anything away, but it was unsatisfying for me. Let me know your thoughts if you feel the same, or differently!

Throne of Glass

I don’t want to give away any spoilers for this one — because it’s too good. But I will say, as for which couple is my favorite in this series all of them. Even the ones that don’t work out — I love them all. Give me 1,000 year old fae match ups with eighteen year olds — in real life, that is very creepy, in Fantasy, what more could you want?

A Court of Thorns and Roses

Again, I don’t want to spoil anything so I will only mention again — I love all of the couples in this series. It’s not finished yet, and some of my favorites don’t have a significant other yet, but I am routing for them. Again — hundreds of years old fae paired with eighteen year olds (Sarah J Maas is predictable if nothing else, but I still love her).

Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood

Hunt and Bryce. Enough said. If they are not end game I will riot and there will be severe consequences (for my heart mostly).

Warriors

This one is going to seem a little strange for most of you, but there are some people out there who will know.

  • Fireheart & Sandstorm

This couple is from a children’s chapter book. I was so invested in this series I read it until I was seventeen. It is called Warriors by Erin Hunter. It is a series about wild cats who live in clans in the woods. So yes, this couple is made up of two cats. Maybe I’ll go more in detail about this series in another post. I had so many relationships that I was invested in within these books! It was insane. But, the one I mentioned above is by far the most memorable for me (okay, that’s a lie, it’s Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw, but I can’t dive in too deeply right now or you’ll all think I’m crazy with these names!)

Non-Series Books

Here are a few other couples from must-read books:

  • Jacob & Marlena from Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
  • Ronnie & Will from The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
  • Allie & Noah from The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

I could not write a blog post about my top 10 fabulous fiction couples without including the most iconic one — Allie & Noah. My personal favorite Nicholas Sparks couple though is Ronnie & Will. I am in love with the movie as well. The song When you Look at Me by Miley Cyrus that plays in the movie is one of my all time favorites. As for Jacob & Marlena, that was another favorite book of mine. I read it in eighth grade I think. I found it at a BJ’s and my mom bought it for me. It was much more adult than any other book I had read at the time, but I loved it.

There are so many more that could be put on this list, but so as not to overwhelm and overdo it, I will stop with my top 10 fiction couples. I would love to hear some of your all time favorite fiction couples! Let me know if you liked any of the ones I listed above too!
